Musaelyan Babken, 86 years old
You know, I’ve been in Yerevan for four months now, and I have 635 phone numbers of Martuni residents in my notebook. There isn’t a day that goes by without me talking to people from Artsakh. Sometimes, I speak with 15-25 people in a day, listening to them all... We had a deputy who always said, "Stay calm, everything is under control." And I pass this message to others, telling them, "Don't worry... We will return to Artsakh. Our home is there. We will return."
Speaking of Artsakh... I think everyone remembers our esteemed children's writer, the late Gurgen Gabrielyan. Just hearing familiar lines from Gurgen Gabrielyan fills my eyes with tears. Let's recall his song:
"Ora Ho! You are your father's heart!
Of those five children, you are the eldest!
Eldest son, you are my pillow!
Ora Ho!
Maybe one day..."
And with these lines, I tell everyone over the phone, "Don’t worry. We will return to Artsakh. Everything in Artsakh is ours. Artsakh is ours. We must and will live there."
