Ani Gulyan, 17 years old
These medals belong to my grandfather, Ernest Mikhailovich Grigoryan. They are very important to us. I remember, as we were getting ready to leave Artsakh, my mom called and anxiously instructed us to take the medals and bury them. According to her, the city was engulfed in panic, and if anything related to military service was seen at the checkpoints, they wouldn't let us through. My grandfather participated in the 1992 war, for which he was called a hero, and my parents dedicated most of their lives to military service.
I decided to keep these medals with me. My parents only found out about it after arriving in Yerevan. At home, I was scolded, they said that something bad could have happened.
