On September 20, 2023, when we realized that the war was escalating, we left the basement and headed home to gather important items, including dishes rescued from our house in Shushi and stones from Asthashen. The spoon and fork are the only surviving souvenirs from our home, and the stones from Asthashen are a piece of our homeland (my paternal grandmother is from Asthashen). These items remind me of happier times and home. I always dreamed of finding fossilized stars on my own, and I only succeeded in 2021. Touching the stones, I remember that day and the taste of water from the spring located next to the rock. The dishes remind me of the kitchen in our home, family dinners, and gatherings.
